Day 8

Lake Havasu-Chatsworth (via Torrance to pick up Martha)
351 miles
3 stops + 1 Chinese fire drill

Lake Havasu was beautiful in the morning light

We finally made it!!

Our last food stop of the trip was at the delicious In and Out Burger. There was quite a breeze blowing outside so Lia was all bundled up. Before this stop we had been stuck in bad traffic which was so slow we were able to pull off and switch drivers so I could soothe a fussy baby.

We passed several huge wind farms that had hundreds or maybe thousands of turbines. They were an impressive sight-- but so conspicuous in the surrounding natural beauty.

After picking up the car (which thankfully was in great shape after it's earlier, quicker cross country trip) we schlepped along the last stretch of the trip through LA rush hour traffic to finally arrive in Chatsworth! We've spent the last couple days visiting with the family.

Lia met uncle charlie for the first time-I think both were rather smitten

It's always fun with grandma and Uncle Josh

The doggy 'cousins' enjoyed meeting for the first time as well...
And soon became good friends
No Irwin family gathering is complete without grandpa's official pool tournament
Uncle Joseph with a 'smiling' Theo
Lia enjoyed story time with daddy
And she wondered how the cute baby in the mirror got on his shoulders!
