Yesterday we drove 3 hours to attend a wedding of a good friend of Grant's from his squadron. The bride had been very specific about having the ceremony at lake with a gazebo and a reception hall nearby. Impressively, they were able to find a place that met their criteria somewhere in middle-of-nowhere rural Virginia. The drive was long, but lovely through the countryside. The ceremony was very nice and thankfully the rain earlier in the day had stopped leaving pleasant temperatures and relatively few bugs. The gazebo served it's purpose, but I think it would have been fun if they had done the ceremony from row boats ;). It was dark by the time the festivities were over and we were ready to begin the long trek home. Much to our vexation, we were met by a fallen tree in the road, not a quarter mile from the site, that hadn't been there when we arrived. Oh Mary-- these pictures are amazing! I didnt realize you were blogging again and it has been a real treat to read these posts and catch up. What an amazing adventure youre on!! It is wild how much the scenery has changed (and I am very impressed with your mileage totals esp with a baby in tow!!) and PS LOVE the pic of Grant and Lia looking at that amazing hamburger :-)
