Pumpkin Patch

Though it may not feel or look much like fall around here, we are still enjoying some fun fall activities. This past Sunday the housing group sponsored a trip to a pumpkin patch.

The sky was clear, a breeze in the air, and temperatures in 70's so it was a perfect day for the trip.

We decided to begin with a walk through the 10 acre corn maze (one of the biggest in Tulare county)
The sign behind us shows a map of the maze.

Here we are at the beginning of the maze, not sure what we were getting ourselves into. *note that Lia is still wearing her hat

Lia is ready to go!

Now, after quite a while of wandering about the towering vegetation, and having little success in navigating it, we all began to feel like JoJo looks in this picture and decided to call it quits. It was about this time that we realized Lia had lost her hat along the way, but there was no way we would ever be able to retrace out steps. So we cut our losses and were thankful to still have two shoes for JoJo despite her best efforts to lose them also in the maze!

The rest of the farm was thankfully less formidable than the corn maze.

We enjoyed a hay ride,

A walk through the pumpkin patch,

Playing in a corn pit

And course picking a pumpkin!
JoJo picked hers right away
Both girls were surprisingly decisive in their choices. Lia decided on one of the few white pumpkins in the group.

Recognize this little mouse?

Hello!!

All in all we had a very nice time, and to top it off, while we were eating some lunch I happened to notice a bright pink hat on top of a pumpkin at the front booth! Some kind soul had picked it up and put it there hoping its proper owner would find it there on the way out...and that we happily did!

  1. I really enjoyed this post, and it was so funny about the hat--it would have been so impossible to retrace your steps, can you even imagine!? But what a blessing to see it there at the entrance :) What a fun day!

  2. What a fun outing, Mary! It looks like Lia really enjoyed every aspect of the pumpkin patch. I love Jojo's sailor dress- super cute. And what a great surprise to find the hat at the end of the day :-) you all look amazing!! ♡♡
