We've Shrunk!

We seem to have rather unexpectedly shrunk this weekend...
Can you even see Grant in front of this tree?

Or walking along the path??

There he is!

So tiny!

I guess I'm pretty small too!

Well, actually, this it what it feels like when you're in front of the biggest tree(s) in the world!

Here's the tree from farther back up the trail--you can get some perspective by noticing the people at the base. This one is known as the "General Sherman". It is the biggest tree(by volume) in the world, and though the top part is dead it continues to grow wider every year. It is over 2000 years old!

We had a wonderful time at the park...

The trees weren't the only things that were big--good thing this tarantula wasn't alive!

Caught red "headed"(pun intended)
Though not clear in this picture we saw an acorn woodpecker attempting to break into a car next to ours-you'd think he'd be satisfied with trees

What was quite remarkable was...
being used to views like this...

...and only driving 2 hours for views like this!

And this!

Definitely worth the day trip!
